The Brookdale Neighborhood Coalition was established in July 2015 by area residents who share significant concerns regarding the proposed Department of Sanitation garage project’s impact on health and safety. Currently more than 60,000 individuals are part of the Coalition. It is governed by a Steering Committee chaired by Janet Handal, president of the Waterside Tenants Association.
